Welcome!
Hi there,
Welcome to this week’s newsletter! Every other week, I’ll share a mix of inspiration, resources, and a touch of humor to keep you feeling supported and grounded. Let’s dive in:
📚 What I’m Reading
Each week, I’ll share a book that’s inspiring me or could be helpful in your journey.
This week’s read: Divergent Mind: Thriving In a World That Wasn’t Designed for You
Why I love it: The author, Jenara, does a good job of blending real-world stories from women who are divergent, and also the latest research about neurodivergence in woman. I found the stories to be touching and poignant, and also gave me some ideas of ways to shift things in my own life to better support my wellness.
✨ Takeaway nugget: “Perhaps the most important thing I learned from writing this book is the value of acceptance. With acceptance comes accommodation, understanding, and a sense of graciousness from others and society at large that allows neurodivergent individuals to develop and grow in their own way and ultimately identify how to plug their strengths in to neurotypical settings that once felt uncomfortable. Acceptance is at the core of what then enables people who feel marginalized to take risks, expand their sense of belonging, apply themselves in work and relationships, and thrive.” - pg. 211
🎧 Podcast Episode Worth a Listen
Podcast: Feeling Good by Dr. David Burns
Episode: Episode 434 The One-Minute Drill; Memory Rescripting, and More!
This episode is discussed how to deal with boring work, how to approach the negative thinking we have about boring work, and what to do to combat these thinking patterns!
Why I recommend it: Executive dysfunction and a lack of motivation keep so many of us stuck. This episode includes some helpful ways to shift this line of thinking into something more productive.
🏋️♀️ What Workouts I’m Loving
Here’s what’s keeping me active and grounded this week:
Get Fit with Rick 10 Minute Bedtime Workout for Blood Sugar Regulation
Try it out if it feels empowering for you to get an extra 1000 steps in your day, simply by moving your body regularly and in quick ‘snacks’ like this one!
🔄 What I’m Fine-Tuning in My Own Life
This week, I’ve been focused on getting morning sunlight regularly. I have been sitting on my back porch to help my body create healthier sleep-wake patterns due to the exposure of morning sunlight. See if you can get 10 minutes today or tomorrow morning!
🧘♀️ Mindfulness Practice to Try
This week’s script/video:
Vagus Nerve Reset to Release Trauma Stored in the Body
Now, I don’t think is going to ‘release’ all of your trauma, but I love using humming and polyvagal nervous system exercises like this one to help you feel better faster.
💡 Funny/Helpful Therapist-y Finds
This week’s pick: The Field guide to Dumb Birds of North America by Matt Kracht
Why I love it: This book can be laugh out loud funny and can be something to do when you’re in your backyard getting your morning sunlight!

💬 Weekly Affirmation & Wisdom
🌈 Affirmation: I can be patient with myself and my healing process. It takes as long as it takes.
✨ Wisdom to carry with you: Apply the ‘might as well’ thought process to anything you are doing/avoiding with the ‘adulting’ tasks of your day. Warming up chicken nuggets for your kiddo for lunch? Might as well unload the dishwasher while you do it. Listening to a podcast? Might as well stand up and walk every 10 minutes for 1 minute to increase your body’s movement in the day.
